Once Magazine was a labor of love for a group of young photographers and journalists. Designed exclusively for the iPad, each issue presented three captivating photo stories integrated with audio, video, and interactive graphics. In a unique revenue-sharing model, all proceeds from the digital magazine were split with contributing photographers and writers.
We created a distinctive brand and visual identity for Once. Evoking the tradition of storytelling, the logo mark hinted at the idea of a single thread which holds a narrative together. We refined the app interface and user experience, while also providing editorial design and direction for each issue. Once climbed into the top 10 on the iTunes photography chart and was featured in numerous blogs and publications.
